It is located in between two very steep cliffs with the Beas River raging down right beside it. Be sure to visit the hot spring of the Gurdwara, which according to the legends, has therapeutic and healing properties. This six kilometers trek to the Gurdwara takes you through narrow mountain trails that also lets you experience the commercially unexposed and unadulterated scenic beauty of Kasol.

If you like hummus as much as I do, then you’re bound to have a great time in Kasol. This picturesque valley attracts a lot of Israeli backpackers and hence the name, Little Israel. You can find several Israeli restaurants, with genuine Israeli cooks, serving authentic Israeli cuisine. But that’s not all, one can even find the best Japanese, Italian and Greek cuisines up there. So, forget about the old paranthas and dal makhnis and savour the exquisite international cuisines of Kasol while you’re up there.

The trek is Kheerganga is an absolute must! Without having a dip in the natural hot springs there, your whole trip to the land of myth will be for naught. The nine kilometers trek to get there is, however, a hard one that takes almost 4 hours from the village of Kasol. This is the easiest treks in and around Kasol, but is a whole lot more challenging due to steep cliffs and mountain trails. Although, all your sorrow and tiredness will be washed off once you reach the lush green meadows of Kheerganga and take a long and relaxing dip in the natural hot springs.

By Road: HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) operates buses (Volvos as well) for Kullu from Delhi, Chandigarh and other cities. Get down at Bhuntar and take a local bus or taxi. Kasol is 30 kms (approx.) from Bhuntar.
