Kumaon Literary Festival (KLF) is the first travelling literary festival of the country. The first edition of the fest will take place in the quaint hills of Uttarakhand in October this year. KLF is a not-for-profit festival which will see top authors, thought leaders, cinema and media personalities, political commentators and opinion makers of the country come together for a 5 day lit fest to be held at Te Aroha located in Dhanachuli, an enchanting little village in the Himalayas and in Abbotsford in Nainital.

Event details:

Fri, Oct 2, 2020 – Sun, Oct 4, 2020

Venue: Dhanachuli and Nainital, Uttarakhand

KLF is the brainchild of Sumant Batra who has many feathers in his cap. He is an eminent lawyer and a senior consultant to IMF, World Bank Group, museum curator and philanthropist. Other eminent personalities of the festival directorate are Barkha Dutt (NDTV) Priya Kapoor (Roli Books), Anuj Bahri (the literary agent of celebrated authors like Amish Tripathi and Anuja Chauhan), Janhavi Prasada (film maker) and a number of accomplished authors, poets, media personalities and thinkers of the country.

Participants at KLF will witness an event where meaningful and deep discussions will be held. But it will still leave some time for the participants to rejuvenate, bond, go for picnics, forest or village walk, indulge in bird watching and spend time with children from local schools.

Te Aroha, a boutique hotel nestled in the mountains of Dhanachuli, an enchanting little village in Kumaon in Uttarakhand, will serve as the main venue for KLF. On its last two days, the festival will travel to Nainital where events will be held in Abbotsford, a heritage property. KLF is being supported by United Nations Women and Uttarakhand Tourism.
